Jolicloud 2 – Your modern alternative to iGoogle

by Jolicloud Team

October 30th, 2013

On November 1st, in just a few short days, iGoogle will be shutting down. The reason for this, according to Google, is that the product is not relevant to the present.

“We originally launched iGoogle in 2005 before anyone could fully imagine the ways that today’s web and mobile apps would put personalized, real-time information at your fingertips.” (*)

We believe you should not have to fear becoming homeless!

Jolicloud 2 is here to welcome all users who are looking for an alternative, a more modern home that better suits today’s digital behaviours and landscapes.

Jolicloud 2 is a place to call home. We are constantly up to date on digital trends and technology in order to keep your home relevant to you and to the present.

In November, we will open the doors to our digital housewarming party. We will reveal all our new features and services that make a home a home. However, you are welcome to join today to secure an invite and get going with your new place.

Happy Joliclouding!

1. The Joli OS is much heavy for old computers. Should we reconsider the functional incorporating it? Probably in a version of linux pyppy be more suitable.
2. Today by chrome says expired security certificate.
3. When connected to a friend of mine, it is good to see their personal applications.
4. Good idea is to have and a radio player that will put our stations.
5. Put the if possible.
6. It would all the shortcuts on your desktop to open the application and not in a new window.
7. It would be nice to be allowed to appear shortcuts from our computer. Left the bar we worked with-developing options (menu-developing).
8. I would also like to add shortcuts and more complex than simple link to a site.

Too Much good work. Continue in the same way.
Thank you.

Sorry for my English

If you want to replace igoogle for me then you will need to provide 1 single page with multiple feeds that are graphic and easy to read. The thing I miss most is a chart from google finance that gave me a quick way of seeing what was happening to that particular stock. I want to be able to follow any website through this page – no restrictions and updated automatically. Look forward to seeing the new Jolicloud.

How about ? Looks like a good alternative if you don’t need RSS and widgets. Having same icons on mobile browsers is nice feature

I have been, and still am, a Jolicloud user and fan practically from the beginning. Therefore, I am very happy to hear about Jolicloud 2. However, I see the mention of a November “Housewarming”, and have been trying to get on the list. I haven’t been able to do so. How can I find out more about Jolicloud 2? Especially;
1) Exactly what are the pertinent changes?
2) Will the current Jolicloud automatically update to Jolicloud 2, or will I have to install J2 separately?
3) I currently use Jolicloud on my Android and IOS devices, as well as on a computer. Same question, will the current Jolicloud automatically update?

1) Changes for Jolicloud Home will be announced with the digital housewarming party.
2) Note the update is about the web service, not the OS. But yes, the update will be automatic.
3) More details about the mobile apps later.

Stay tuned :)

I understand, I was hoping to be a new operating system because the current Joli has trouble detecting wireless networks.

I installed joli OS 1.2 and was forced to join the BETA2 which i find TERRIBLE cant find a an application to save my life. Very angry because i cant understand how you went from what i wanted and downloaded to force feeding me some hipster cloud OS

If you’re “forced” to use Jolicloud 2, note it’s everything Jolidrive had + more features.
Nothing disappeared: Storages and applications are still under the Drive section.
